الأونروا تعلن الفائزين في مسابقة "تحدي الإبداع اليابان غزة"

بالتعاون مع مبادرة "تحدي الإبداع اليابان غزة" (JGIC)، استضافت الأونروا مسابقة تحدي ريادة الأعمال غزة 2016؛ وقد تضمنت الفعالية ورشة عمل عقدت على مدار يومين ومسابقة بين المشاريع الريادية المتقدمة، واختتمت بتنظيم حفلاً ختامياً في كلية تدريب مجتمع خانيونس في مدينة خانيونس جنوب قطاع غزة.
وفي ورشة العمل تم مناقشة الأفكار الريادية وكيفية إسهامها في مستقبل أفضل لغزة بحلول 2050، كما قدمت الفرصة للمشاركين للوصول والتشبيك مع مستثمرين يابانيين ورياديي أعمال، إضافة إلى مشاركة ودعم حاضنات ريادة الأعمال من غزة في ورشة العمل، وكان مشروع الأونروا الاجتماعي بوابة غزة (GGateway) من المنظمين الأساسيين للورشة.
وكان تركيز مسابقة تحدي ريادة الأعمال غزة 2016 على المشاريع الريادية التي تُسهم في تحسين الحياة في غزة، والأفكار التي قُدمت كانت في مجالات الرعاية الصحية وإدارة المياه والزراعة والتعليم والتصنيع.
وقد حجز فريقين من العشرة فرق المنافسة على المراتب الأولى في المسابقة، وكان مشروع "Green Cake" برئاسة المهندسة المدنية مجد المشهراوي البالغة من العمر 22 عام أحد الفائزين في المسابقة؛ من خلال المشروع الصديق للبيئة تطوير حجار وطوب البناء من رماد الفحم وبتكلفة 25% أقل من تكلفة الطوب المستخدم في المجتمع في غزة، وقالت مجد معلقةً على الفوز: "لقد كان التدريب رائع، وحصلنا على أفكار تدريبية جديدة إضافة إلى تقديم أفكارنا وإبداعاتنا".
بينما الفريق الفائز الثاني " Sketch Engineering" برئاسة أمل أبو معيلق، عمل على إيجاد حلول لحمل الأوزان الثقيلة على الدرج – عربة ميكانيكية من ثلاثة عجلات لحمل الأوزان على الدرج – والتي من الممكن أن تُستخدم أيضاً من قبل الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقات الحركية، وقالت أمل معلقةً على فوز فريقها: "لقد كانت الفرق الأربعة في التصفيات النهائية منافسات للغاية، ولم نتوقع الفوز". وحصل كلا الفريقين على جائزة مالية بقيمة 5,000 دولار إلى جانب الدعم الفني للبدء في مشروعهم.
فيما قال البروفيسور سيشيرو يونيكرا أحد المحكمين من مبادرة "تحدي الإبداع اليابان غزة": "نحن فخورون بهذه الفرق الخمسة، وقد تحمسنا كثيراً بهذه الأفكار الإبداعية، وسعيدون بتقديم المساعدة والاستثمار في هذه الأفكار".
ومن خلال عدة تدخلات، تشجع الأونروا وتدعم الرياديين الشباب في غزة باعتبارها شكل من أشكال التوظيف والإبداع الذي يساعد الشباب في التغلب على صعوبات الوضع الاجتماعي والاقتصادي القاسي في قطاع غزة. إن الحصار الذي دخل عامه العاشر في شهر يونيو 2016 إضافة إلى تكرار دوامات العنف المسلح أدى إلى تقويض القطاع الاقتصادي في القطاع ودفع جزء كبير من السكان إلى حالة البطالة والفقر، وبحسب الجهاز المركزي للإحصاء الفلسطيني (PCBS) في عام 2015 وقف معدل البطالة العام للشباب عند 61% وللشابات وقف المعدل عند 78.5%.

تواجه الأونروا طلبا متزايدا على خدماتها بسبب زيادة عدد لاجئي فلسطين المسجلين ودرجة هشاشة الأوضاع التي يعيشونها وفقرهم المتفاقم. ويتم تمويل الأونروا بشكل كامل تقريبا من خلال التبرعات الطوعية فيما لم يقم الدعم المالي بمواكبة مستوى النمو في الاحتياجات. ونتيجة لذلك فإن الموازنة البرامجية للأونروا، والتي تعمل على دعم تقديم الخدمات الرئيسة، تعاني من عجز كبير يتوقع أن يصل في عام 2016 إلى 74 مليون دولار. أما برامج الأونروا الطارئة والمشروعات الرئيسة، والتي تعاني أيضا من عجز كبير، فيتم تمويلها عبر بوابات تمويل منفصلة.
تأسست الأونروا كوكالة تابعة للأمم المتحدة بقرار من الجمعية العامة في عام 1949، وتم تفويضها بتقديم المساعدة والحماية لحوالي خمسة ملايين لاجئ من فلسطين مسجلين لديها. وتقتضي مهمتها بتقديم المساعدة للاجئي فلسطين في الأردن وسورية ولبنان والضفة الغربية وقطاع غزة ليتمكنوا من تحقيق كامل إمكاناتهم في مجال التنمية البشرية وذلك إلى أن يتم التوصل لحل عادل ودائم لمحنتهم. وتشتمل خدمات الأونروا على التعليم والرعاية الصحية والإغاثة والخدمات الاجتماعية والبنية التحتية وتحسين المخيمات والحماية والإقراض الصغير.
UNRWA announces winners of the Japan Gaza Innovation Challenge contest

In cooperation with the Japan Gaza Innovation Challenge (JGIC) initiative, UNRWA hosted the 2016 Gaza Entrepreneur Challenge contest. The event included a two-day workshop and business competition followed byclosing ceremony held in UNRWA Training College in Khan Younis (KYTC), southern Gaza, for the participants in the contest.
The workshop discussed how entrepreneurial ideas could contribute to a brighter future for Gaza in 2050 andprovided an opportunity for the participants to have access to and network with Japanese investors and social entrepreneurs. A number of entrepreneurial incubators in Gaza supported the workshop with the UNRWA social enterprise spin-off GGateway, as lead organizer.
The 2016 Gaza Entrepreneur Challenge main focus was on entrepreneurship projects that contribute to enhance the life improvement of Gaza, and the ideas presented were in the fields of health care, nutrition, water management, agriculture, education and manufacturing.
Two of the 10 teams competing, tied first place in the contest. The "Green Cake" project headed by Majd Almashharawi, a 22 year old civil engineer, was one of them. Her environmentally-friendly project is on developing a new bricks-mixture by adding coal ashes, at a cost of 25 per cent less than the commonly used ones in Gaza. "This training was wonderful, we received new training ideas as well as skills on presenting our projects and innovations," Majd explained.
The other winning team, "Sketch Engineering," headed by Amal Abu Mouailiq worked on finding a solution for carrying heavy weights on stairs - a three-wheel stair climber - which can also be used for persons with motor disabilities. "The other four contesting teams (in the final) were very competitive and we really didn't expect to win," Amal commented on her team winning. Both teams were rewarded a financial prize of US$ 5,000 and technical support to start their business.
Professor SeiichiroYonekura – one of the judges from the Japan Gaza Innovation Challenge said: "We are proud of these five teams, we were motivated by their ideas, and we are happy to provide assistance and invest in their ideas."
Through different interventions, UNRWA encourages and supports young entrepreneurs in Gaza as a form of employment and innovation that helps youth to try to overcome the difficulties and hardships of the dire socio-economic context in the Strip. The blockade on Gaza - which entered its tenth year in June 2016 - along with the repeated cycles of armed conflict have crippled the enclave's economic sector and pushed a large part of the population into unemployment and poverty. In 2015, the overall youth unemployment rate stood at 61 per cent, and the youth female unemployment rate at 78.5 per cent, according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics.
