الاونروا ومؤسسة دبي العطاء تدعمان السلامة والرفاهية للطلاب الفلسطينيين اللاجئين في قطاع غزة

بدعم كريم من مؤسسة دبي العطاء، نظم برنامج التعليم وبرنامج الصحة النفسية المجتمعية التابعان للأونروا حصصاً أسبوعية في مجالي الفنون والرياضة لأكثر من 175,000 طلاب من مدارس الأونروا في قطاع غزة، كما حصل حوالي 1,620 طالب على دعم نفسي اجتماعي في الفترة ما بين فبراير وديسمبر 2015.
يهدف المشروع إلى مساعدة الأطفال على تطوير آليات التأقلم الإيجابية في ظل عيشهم في قطاع غزة، حيث يستمر آثار الحصار وتدهور الظروف الحياتية في ترك الأثر على الأطفال. وتشمل هذه الصعوبات على الخوف والقلق من المستقبل والكوابيس وانخفاض مستوى الدافعية في المدرسة وضعف التركيز والتعلم. تعمل الأونروا على تحسين الآثار النفسية الإجتماعية لجميع الطلاب، كما وتُشرك أيضاً المعلمين وأولياء الأمور وغيره من مانحي الرعاية من أجل دعم الأطفال بشكل أفضل، ويتم منح الأطفال مساحات للتعبير عن أنفسهم والحصول على الدعم من المرشدين النفسسين ومن قبل أقرانهم، إضافة إلى حصولهم على تدخلات متخصصة من قبل المرشدين النفسسين.
إن المشروع الممول من مؤسسة دبي العطاء يعزز الجهود النفسية والاجتماعية المذكورة من خلال تنظيم نشاطات فنية وحصص تربية رياضية، حيث أن الفنون الإبداعية شكلُ مهم من أشكال التعبير كما أن تعزيز الرياضة عامل رئيسي في التطور الإنساني. كما يتماشى المشروع مع أهداف الأمم المتحدة للتنمية المستدامة، وخصوصاً التعليم النوعي المتمثل في الهدف "ضمان التعليم الجيد المنصف والشامل للجميع وتعزيز فرص التعلّم مدى الحياة للجميع".
وقد شمل الدعم المقدم من مؤسسة دبي العطاء من خلال هذا المشروع على تدريب 364 معلم حول نشاطات الفنون والرياضة، وتزويد 27 مرشد نفسي مدرسي ممن تم تدريبهم على تحسين الدعم النفسي والاجتماعي لدى الأطفال في مدارس الأونروا والإستجابة لإحتياجاتهم.
إضافة إلى هذه النشاطات المهمة، فإن المرحلة الثانية من المشروع والتي ستنتهي خلال عام 2016، ستمكن حوالي 1,500 طفل من الإلتحاق بالمرحلتين الإبتدائية والإعدادية عبر إنشاء وتجهيز مدرسة جديدة تابعة للأونروا في غزة.

دعمت مؤسسة دبي العطاء هذه الإحتفالية الختامية بمناسبة نهاية الفصل الدراسي التي نظمت في مدرسة المغازي الإعدادية، والتي شارك فيها حوالي 600 طالب من مدارس الأونروا وبحضور قادة من المجتمع وكبار موظفي الأونروا. جميع الحقوق محفوظة: أرشيف الأونروا 2015.

حول الأونروا
تواجه الأونروا طلبا متزايدا على خدماتها بسبب زيادة عدد لاجئي فلسطين المسجلين ودرجة هشاشة الأوضاع التي يعيشونها وفقرهم المتفاقم. ويتم تمويل الأونروا بشكل كامل تقريبا من خلال التبرعات الطوعية فيما لم يقم الدعم المالي بمواكبة مستوى النمو في الاحتياجات. ونتيجة لذلك فإن الموازنة البرامجية للأونروا، والتي تعمل على دعم تقديم الخدمات الرئيسة، تعاني من عجز كبير يتوقع أن يصل في عام 2016 إلى 81 مليون دولار. أما برامج الأونروا الطارئة والمشروعات الرئيسة، والتي تعاني أيضا من عجز كبير، فيتم تمويلها عبر بوابات تمويل منفصلة.
تأسست الأونروا كوكالة تابعة للأمم المتحدة بقرار من الجمعية العامة في عام 1949، وتم تفويضها بتقديم المساعدة والحماية لحوالي خمسة ملايين لاجئ من فلسطين مسجلين لديها. وتقتضي مهمتها بتقديم المساعدة للاجئي فلسطين في الأردن ولبنان وسورية والضفة الغربية وقطاع غزة ليتمكنوا من تحقيق كامل إمكاناتهم في مجال التنمية البشرية وذلك إلى أن يتم التوصل لحل عادل ودائم لمحنتهم. وتشتمل خدمات الأونروا على التعليم والرعاية الصحية والإغاثة والخدمات الاجتماعية والبنية التحتية وتحسين المخيمات والحماية والإقراض الصغير.
UNRWA and Dubai Cares support the safety and wellbeing of Palestine refugee students in Gaza

Supported by generous funding from Dubai Cares, UNRWA's Education Department and Community Mental Health Programme (CMHP) has engaged more than 175,000 children in UNRWA schools in Gaza through the delivery of weekly arts and sports classes. Around 1,620 UNRWA children have also received psychosocial support in the period between February and December 2015.
The project aims to help children develop positive coping mechanisms whilst living in Gaza, where the impacts of the blockade and deteriorating living conditions continue to have a particular impact on children. These difficulties can include fears and worries about the future, nightmares, decreased motivation in school, and poor concentration and learning. UNRWA is focusing on promoting the psychosocial well-being of all students while also involving teachers, parents and other care givers to better support them. Children are given space to express themselves and receive the support of counsellors as well as peers, in addition to having access to more targeted interventions provided by counsellors.
The Dubai Cares-funded project reinforces the above psychosocial efforts through arts activities and sports education, as creative arts are an important form of expression and the promotion of sport is a significant factor in human development. The project aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly on quality education and the target to "build and upgrade education facilities that are child, disability and gender sensitive and provide safe, non-violent, inclusive and effective learning environments for all."
Support from Dubai Cares through this project, has included the training of 364 teachers on arts and sports activities and provided for 27 school counsellors who are trained on enhancing psychosocial support and respond to the needs of children in UNRWA schools.
In addition to these important activities, the second phase of the project, to be complete later in 2016, will enable approximately 1,500 children to access primary and preparatory education through the constructing and equipping of a new UNRWA school in Gaza.

About UNRWA
UNRWA is confronted with an increased demand for services resulting from a growth in the number of registered Palestine refugees, the extent of their vulnerability and their deepening poverty. UNRWA is funded almost entirely by voluntary contributions and financial support has been outpaced by the growth in needs. As a result, the UNRWA Programme Budget, which supports the delivery of core essential services, operates with a large shortfall, projected for 2016 to stand at US$ 81 million. UNRWA emergency programmes and key projects, also operating with large shortfalls, are funded through separate funding portals.
UNRWA is a United Nations agency established by the General Assembly in 1949 and mandated to provide assistance and protection to some 5 million registered Palestine refugees. Its mission is to help Palestine refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, West Bank and the Gaza Strip achieve their full human development potential, pending a just and lasting solution to their plight. UNRWA services encompass education, health care, relief and social services, camp infrastructure and improvement, protection and microfinance .
